Rail Switching

What does the rail operation consist of?

  • Harbest receives the train(s) from railway concessionaires (Kansas City Southern de México, Ferromex, Ferrosur, Ferrovalle), which leaves outside the terminal/private plant, for later entry.

  • Once the train has entered, we cut (group) the dragging units (tank cars, hoppers, gondolas, etc.), for the subsequent placement of each rail car on the corresponding tracks and positions for unloading or loading.

  • Once processed (loaded/unloaded) from the rail cars, Harbest reassembles the trains inside the terminal for delivery to the railroad concessionaires for transport to the destination.

Benefits:

To have an Operational Design, according to the requirements and infrastructure of the Terminal/Plant.

Permanent advice on logistics and railroad operations.

The entire operation is controlled and monitored with our Harbest Terminal Manager, providing visibility and traceability at all times, from the moment the train enters the terminal until it completes its cycle and leaves the terminal.

Reduction in operating costs, since we avoid investing or leasing in tractive equipment (locomotive/rail tug), and their respective maintenance (preventive and corrective). By operating with tractive equipment (locomotive/railroad tug), adequate for Terminal/Plant operations, we do not prematurely deteriorate the track materials. By having certified crews, we minimize possible accidents and their costs, as well as increase operational efficiency.

Monthly training program, guaranteeing certified personnel on an ongoing basis

Have equipment and crew service up to 24/7

Regardless of the size and complexity of your Terminal/Operation, we design a customized solution to your needs.
